Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust has one of the largest implant retained facial prostheses services in the UK, established for over 30 years under the guidance of Mr Michael Rothera, Consultant ENT surgeon, we have around 100 patients with ongoing care.
Due to a retirement in the department an opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled maxillofacial prosthetist & technologist to work within our ENT department. This is a very hands-on role and it is essential that you are able to produce implant retained facial prostheses of the highest quality. You will be asked to demonstrate these skills at interview.
Although currently a small department with two members of staff, we serve Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and other Trusts in the local area, delivering mainly facial prostheses with some compression plates and dynamic splints for scar therapy. We treat both adults and paediatric patients on and off-site. There is scope for expanding the department further to bring more services in-house and a drive to deliver Better Care at Lower Cost.
