Drug safety update: Warfarin and Miconazole interaction
We would like to draw your attention to the Drug Safety update issued by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency on 15 June 2016, which describes the serious interaction between the medications warfarin and miconazole, and leads to an enhanced anticoagulant effect when a patient is exposed to both.
We would like to remind dental professionals of their responsibility to keep up to date with current protocols and guidelines to ensure patient safety. Standard 7.1 states you must provide good quality care based on current evidence and authoritative guidance. For more information, please see our guidance on prescribing medicines.

Reaction to Britain leaving the European Union
The Prime Minister made clear that the formal process for implementing the referendum result would be taken forward under a new leader, and that won't happen immediately.
In the meantime, nothing has changed for the GDC and it's business as usual.
We will communicate any changes widely as and when the position develops |
