STP ‘Train the Trainer’ dates confirmed

The STP ‘Train the Trainer’ events will take place on the following dates next year:

4th February 2020 in Oxford

18th June 2020 in Exeter

1st October 2020 in Croydon

5th November 2020 in Leeds

Details of these events will be on the website soon. Due to the success of ‘Train the Trainer’ events this year in Newcastle and Swindon, we have planned the  events in other regions so that training for training officers is more accessible.

Venues are yet to be confirmed but will be located near public transport links in the centre of the town or city in which the event will be held in, registration and refreshments will be available from 9.30am with a prompt start at 10.00am and closing at 4.30pm.

If you or any members of staff that are new to the role of training officer will be taking responsibility for a STP trainee, this event is essential and is part of the accreditation process. The event will help you:

  • Understand the aims and structure of the STP.
  • Realise the role and responsibilities as a STP training officer.
  • Know the steps to take to plan the training for your trainee.
  • Learn about assessing competencies and giving feedback.
  • Use the functions and features in the STP e-portfolio OneFile.
  • Understand how to support your trainee throughout the programme.

It will also give you the opportunity to network with colleagues from other STP specialisms giving you a chance to exchange ideas and good practice.

If you feel you or any of your colleagues will need to attend this training event, contact the NSHCS on NSHCS.Assessment@hee.nhs.uk  with the date of the event you would like to attend.

Nearer the event and once we know who is interested in attending,  we will send out an email with booking information which allows delegates to book on to the event.

A full agenda will be sent to delegates nearer the time of the event upon completing booking information.
