GIRFT Report

Dear Member,

The IMPT Council would like to draw your attention to a national review of OMFS services. The Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) initiative aims to gather information on our surgical colleagues but also on laboratory services. The report highlights areas such as clinical coding, electronic staff record (ESR) and establishing local Networks as key to making services more efficient and more effective for patients.

Council has appointed Officers to contribute to the review so we have a voice.

You will be contacted in the next few months as data is really hard to access on a National basis. No database exists of the important work we undertake. Most agreements are local on coding and pricing, workforce etc. So it will be vital for you to contribute via this survey. The review will consider the type of work undertaken, numbers of staff undertaking MfP work. It is important we contribute to this report and raise the profile of our contribution to successful services.

Thank you in advance of your help

Kind Regards,

IMPT Council
