Maxillofacial Prosthetist

You will provide highly specialist technical and prosthetic work for the multi centre Regional Maxillofacial Prosthetic and Technical service which provides services to Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Ear Nose and Throat Surgery and Ophthalmic Surgery. While providing support and advice to medical and nursing staff as required, in the practise of maxillofacial prosthetics and technology this will include carrying out invasive procedures in the clinic or operating theatre within specified time limits - i.e. complex sectional impressions, fitting prosthetic abutments to osseointegrated implant fixtures etc. It is essential that you are educated to Degree Level in Dental Sciences within substantial experience you should have hold a MSc in Maxillofacial and Craniofacial Technology with relevant experience with relevant vocational training or you should be educated to Degree in Dental Sciences within substantial experience and have a post graduate Diploma in Maxillofacial Prosthetics with relevant experience and hold MSc vocational training with relevant experience. You should have mandatory registration with the General Dental Council. This is a permanent post with full time hours; these hours will be worked 9.00am to 5.00pm. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme. We encourage informal visits and these can be arranged by contacting the department on 0141 232 7525.
